Chapter 4

"You're my everything, Abhi," Vaanya confesses.

Their eye contact not breaking apart from each other's. Both of them felt emotional, weirdly satisfied, and happy alongside in this situation.

"Vaanu," Abhir slides his hand up from her chin to her cheek, his fingertips touching her ear pinna, as he intensely gazed at her.

"I won't lie, b- but I was so scared when I was lying on your lap, and looking at your face after being shot. I- I thought-"

"Don't complete it," She sniffed, sliding her hand over his on her cheek, leaning more into his palm as she ran for warmth and comfort from his body.

"I guess we shouldn't talk about all that now. You need rest, so lie down, I'll ask your dietician about your meals," smiling, she slid off his hand from her face, standing up to leave the room when Abhir held her wrist.

"What-"

But before she could ask, her husband hauled her towards himself, that she spun twice on the way, and her stomach directly hit his cheek.

Abhir circled his arms around her waist, hugging her closely to himself and hiding his face in her belly.

"I know your work will now be doubled, but I just want you for five more minutes please. I'm not fit, right? So just five minutes, and then whatever you say,"

Abhir lowly uttered, nuzzling his face in her belly making her smile.

Vaanya slowly ran her fingers through his hair locks, caressing his head and gently stroked her other hand on his back in circular motion to comfort him.

"Don't sit in this position at least, it must be uncomfortable and might open up your stitches, Abhi," she requested.

Her voice low as she felt all her energy drain somewhere else when he hugged her like a child hugging his mom.

"I'm okay till you're here," he smiled, nuzzling closer to her body as she slowed down her movements while caressing his head.

Moments passed by, and a random thought pulled up in Vaanya's brain, making her smile anonymously.

"You've silky hair," she vocalized with a chuckle.

"You noticed that after almost eleven months of our marriage?" Abhir slightly detached his cheek from her stomach, looking up at her with annoyed expressions and scrunched up nose, that cracked her up at his expressions.

"Oh god, Abhir, I don't always keep touching your hair, do I? Then how would I know?" She laughed, cutely squeezing his cheek as she scrunched her nose as well at him.

"Why not? I'm your husband. You must know each and everything about me, my body, my work, my past present and future, and just everything," he emphasized on the italics, trying to convey his important message to his wife while looking up at her, but his arms still circled around his waist.

"C'mon Abhir. Like you said, it's only been eleven months since our marriage, and both of us just recently confessed to each other. There's still a lot to know about each other, right? So how would I-"

"You're just finding excuses now, biwi ji," and with a high temperament for no reason, but also for a big reason, he jerked off himself from her, and laid back angrily with arms folded in front of his chest, looking straight at the door in front in disappointment.

"Arey, why are you so upset about that, that I didn't know you have silky hair?" Vaanya responded being stunned at his rushed reaction which was her first time to see him like that.

Annoyed, a level above than normal.

"Because you don't know about me, and now you're finding excuses," he stated fiercely staring at her.

"Abhi, now you're overreacting ok-"

"I am overreacting? I am? Oh, please okay? I literally know each and everything about you and your body. Ask me whatever," he challenged.

And his challenge ignited the damped fire of Vaanya. She folded her arms under her chest, now looking at him with the same intensity of competitiveness.

"My body? Fine. Let's start with the mole that I love on my body," Vaanya gracefully accepted the challenge, standing like a boss lady in front of him as she commenced with her first question.

"Right in the middle of your left collarbone," Abhir replied with a better confidence that lowered Vaanya's credence in herself, but she still moved on.

"Fine. Where am I the most ticklish at?" She questioned again.

"Whenever I tickled on your side stomach during our pillow fights, you always choked on your breath, so it's your sides," Abhir easily passed the second question as well, trembling her courage down by each question.

"O- okay, cool. Third. Who is my most favorite person in the world?"

She questioned again, and if seeing them from the outside, it felt like there's s rapid fire round going on in their ward amongst the couple, seeing which, Revanth who came to see his boss with s big bouquet outside, just decided to come back later.

"Except me, your favorites are my family members including my mom, dad and Atharva," Abhir sarcastically smiled at his victory winning answers.

"Cool. You know your place at least," she showed him a vampire teeth pose to tease him before continuing. "What's my favourite food, color, and subject,"

"Haha, pretty easy," Abhir shook his head in denial at her silly questions that felt like nothing to him for this test.

"Favorite food, rice with paneer. Color, black and white. Subjects, literature and biology," he smirked at her this time, angering her up.

"My favorite time of the day?"

"When you're with me, or sleeping in my arms after office,"

"My favorite place to visit?"

"Still Norway, unfortunately," abhir sighed with this answer.

"My eye color?"

"Dark brown,"

"My favorite novel?"

"Mingled As Fated on Wattpad because you find it similar to our story," Abhir winked at her this time with his answer.

But now Vaanya decided to level up the game, and directly jump to tricky part this time. No moderate, no average, direct tricky questions.

"Fine. Last question. If you answer this, I'll apologize to you for not knowing that you have silky hair, good?" She bent a little towards him with smirk, as an evil question surpassed her brain.

"Go on, I'm not afraid of your silly questions," but Abhir had no idea what she was going to say next, because if he had, he would have never sat so comfortably and proudly like this.

"Fine then," Vaanya shrugged at his arrogance after answering a few questions right, ready to break all his ego with this last question.

"What is my deepest intimacy desire with my partner?" She smirked.

Abhir was about to open his mouth, but as soon as he realised that there's something wrong with this question, he reopened his eyes to confusedly gawk at her smirking face.

"Wh- wha- what?" Abhir exclaimed in amazement. His eyes almost bulging out after hearing her question.

"How can you do this to me, Vaanu ji? That's clearly cheating. You can't question me about what we haven't even explored yet," Abhir whined.

Angrily, he laid back on the bed in the same posture with his arms folded under his chest, carefully not hurting his wounds.

"Aww, my baby husband got upset with me?" Vaanya smiled at his reaction. Coming forward, he bent down to his eye level, pinching his chin to tease him more.

"Look here biwi ji," Abhir entangled his pinky with her index finger to look at her face.

"I can answer that question-" his lips slightly curved into a smirk, seeing which Vaanya understood what was going on in his mind. So, she jerked her fingers off his cage and ran outside the ward.

"I'll call the doctor, bye Abhir,"

"Arey, listen na biwi ji, I can answer your question if you give me a chance to explore," Abhir lowly said while laughing as he saw his wife running out of the ICU out of embarassment.

"Silly girl," he chuckled.

And his heart couldn't feel happier than today. He was fine. She was fine too. She isn't upset with him either. Everything is fine now, except...

"Hello? Revanth?" Abhir dialled his number, constantly looking at the door to check for Vaanya, as he didn't want to talk about this in front of her.

"Sir,"

Revanth who was secretly waiting downstairs for Abhir's security with their guards all around the hospital, answered him quickly.

"I saw you came to see me, you're still here?" Abhir questioned. His expressions had completely changed as if his heart sank under an iceberg, and he has no more mercy left for anyone in the world.

"Yes sir,"

"Oh, okay. Did Vaanya call you to talk about Vivaan and Harsh while I was unconscious?" He questions, eyes locked on the door.

"Yes sir, ma'am did ask me to find both of them and keep them in a safe place so she can kill them both by her own hands," Revanth professionally replied, looking around everywhere for any possible dangers that could harm his boss.

"Hmm. Then follow her orders, but don't tell her that I know about it, and do as I say from now on," Abhir told.

"Roger that, sir," he replied. But as he realised, they'll now hand up, Revanth intruded.

"A- ah sir-" he hesitantly uttered.

"Hmm? Say," Abhir causally asked.

"Are you- okay now?" Revanth showed his concern, unable to be bold enough while asking this as he never had such s conversation before with him.

He's not bad at showing concern, but surely he was a bit shy while asking it to Abhir. And Abhir ended up chuckling at his sweet reaction.

"Just come upstairs if you're willing to see me that much," the boss laughed at his PA, giving Revanth a sense of relief with his relaxed reaction.

"Really? Thank you sir-"

"Bring those flowers too that you brought earlier. And yes, Vaanya is coming back to my ICU, so as you enter, and after the doctors leave the room, tell me while giving those flowers that these are sent by a woman, okay? Now bye,"

Saying that, Abhir quickly hung up and kept aside his phone as he was happy that Vaanya didn't see him chatting with anybody, which means, now he can easily plot his prank on her.

Revanth after being hung upon by his boss, gawked weirdly at his phone screen.

"Sir wasn't shot in the head, right? Then why does he have a death wish today? Doesn't he know his wife?" His eyebrows quirked at the realisation. "He has some guts I must say,"

Revanth sighed, picking up the bouquet he brought for Abhir while informing the guards to be more careful now and took the elevator upto Abhir's ICU ward.

Knocking on the door, Revanth enters the room with a nervous smile after seeing Vaanya smiling at Abhir likewise he was.

"This happiness is short lived for sir,"

Revanth exhales internally, terrified of the outcome his boss will have to face after this prank for which he Revanth brought this bouquet for him.

"Oh, come in Revanth," Vaanya invited, and Revanth walked in as soon as the doctors left the room.

"Hi ma'am, hi sir," he greeted the couple with a small bow while walking towards Abhir's bed.

"And sir, these flowers are sent by an anonymous woman to you, with this card attached," Revanth spills as per Abhir's plan, but his heartbeats were at its peak.

However, listening to his statement, Vaanya quickly snatched the card kept on the top of the bouquet to read it. And seeing her curiosity and quick response, Abhir felt triumphant at her anticipated reaction.

But what terrified him was... Her reaction ahead.

"Aww, whoever sent you this is such a sweet girl, Abhi,"
