Chapter 11

"Y- you're hiding something from me, Abhi?"

Vaanya's eyes and nostrils both flared in anger. Her eyes however were trying to not kill Abhir with her looks, but she was failing at it too.

Afterall, what she's got to see has obviously stunned her, and it makes sense if she's this surprised.

"Bu- but hua kya hai bhagyawan?" Abhir nervously smiled, angrily eyeing Revanth to leave the cabin. Revanth nodded, and quickly escaped the room leaving the couple by themselves.

As Abhir approached Vaanya, she pouted and sassily looked away from him. Folding her arms under her chest, she savagely denied to look at him.

"Arey?" Abhir gulped, hoping that she didn't find out about Vivaan and Harsh yet, or else she'll eat him alive.

"Vaanu?" He lovingly held her shoulders, but she jerked him off. "What's wrong, my lovely wife?" He tapped on her shoulder this time, but she jerked again, still looking away from him.

"Meri galti kya hai kam se kam ye to batao," Abhir cried dramatically, joining his hands in front of her.

"Galti?" She finally speaks. "Mai batati hu tumhari galti. Idhar aao zara," she held his wrist, and dragged him outside the cabin.

Vaanya hauled him to the elevator, but since it was busy, she chose to run down with him through the staircase. All the staff was surprised seeing their lady boss dragging their CEO like that in the entire office.

"Vaanu—thoda araam se. Sab dekh rahe hain—" Abhir whispered in her ear, ashamed that the staff had to see all this.

But Vaanya halted at a stair beneath his, and rotated half of her body to look up at him, still holding his wrist. She dangerously eyed him.

"Sab dekh rahe hain? Only now you care about everyone seeing this. What about the show that you've put on for everybody to see in the hall downstairs, huh?" She growled.

An intern who was passing by, halted right next to Abhir on the stair, afraid that he might be rebuked as well by Vaanya if their boss was in this condition in front of his wife.

But when Vaanya stared at the intern, he quickly ran upstairs.

"Tum to idhar aao," and she yet again pulled him down the main reception hall where there were artists wearing huge teddy bear costumes. The entire hall was decorated like there's a wedding reception going to happen in their office.

All the reception staff went instantly quiet when they saw Vaanya and Abhir standing at the corner. Abhir towering behind Vaanya like a criminal, and her being his jailer.

"Kya hai ye sab? Tumhara dimaag theek hai? Agar tumhe surprise hi dena tha mujhe birthday pe to ye sab office me karne ki kya zaroorat thi, Abhi? Vo bhi galat date pe?" She lowly hissed at him, pointing at the "Happy birthday my love, Miss Birla" banner behind the inverted U shaped, pastel rainbow colors decor.

"Vaanu—I swear I remember your birthday—but this—" he was stunned seeing all of this himself. He remembers telling the correct date to the planner, then why this blunder?

"And I swear I didn't write office, I told him the restaurant's name Oasis. Wait I'll show you," he says, promptly taking out his phone from the suit and opening the chats with the planner.

But a silly mistake that he did was to not review it before he blindly passed his phone to her.

Vaanya went through the chats when she saw what he's written, and now she was even more upset.

"You've literally written today's date and office as our venue, Abhi. What are you trying to show me?" She says with done expressions, shoving the screen at his face.

"Wha—" Abhir went wide eyes. For the first time, he finally gawks at the text he sent and it really was today's date and office as their venue.

Shoot.

And before this day, he never thought that one day, the autocorrect technology would cause this ruscus to him.

He slipped his lower lip under his upper jaw, eyes shrinking in guilt and apologetically.

"Vaanu I swear—it's purely autocorrect and my typing mistake—I— I'm so sorry Vaanu, I didn't want to ruin your day—" he guiltily apologizes.

Vaanya saw how his expressions changed from stunned to regretful and agonized, making her feel bad. It's a mistake, she knows this. And it's fine.

He's a human afterall. And he made the most humane mistake ever, so he doesn't deserve to be admonished right now.

Vaanya sighed seeing him like that, feeling like giving him a tight, and squeezy hug, but they're in front of the entire staff so she cannot.

But—she can still hold holds, right? Of course.

Vaanya slowly lifts her hand to cup his right cheek with a beaming smile on her face.

"Patidev?"

She calls sweetly. Abhir looks directly in her orbs, but his expressions still mortified thinking he ruined everything for her and her special day.

"Itna sada hua muh tumpe acha nahi lagta, mere Gore langoor," she giggled, scrunching her nose at him.

"But Vaanu—"

"Shh," she shushed him, cupping both his cheeks. Her eyes all lovingly boring into his guilty ones. She couldn't see him sad for a minimal second, and she realised that today.

Not for a second. Not at all.

He looks the best when he's happy, when he's lively, and when he's smiling, giggling, and talking around her. Unlike this person who's looking so gloomy and remorseful for something which could have happened with anyone.

"I swear I might have been rushed because of work, and couldn't recheck the messages that I sent him, that's why this happened. Otherwise why wo—"

"Can you shut up? I can't kiss you in front of our entire staff to make you shut up." She glared at him, finally evolving a chuckle out of his mouth after a pause of few seconds.

"I was just upset that you didn't have to do all this, Abhi." She says loosely. Her body relaxed and her tone more tired now.

"I just want that you be with me on my special day, that's all. I didn't need all of this at all in your presence," she says with a smile.

Abhir's heart thumped in his chest at her words. Her words are too fruitful today, aren't they? They sound like... Love.

Abhir slowly slides his hand up to hers, and grabs her palm on his cheek, feeling lucky to have her.

She's sometimes really unpredictable. Actually—she's everytime unpredictable. It's just, sometimes it's easy to guess, and sometimes you just can't even imagine what she'll do.

"Vaanu—"

"Abhi, let's go."

And before he could open his mouth again to apologize, she decided to grab his wrist once again, and haul him to the centre of the red carpet that was drawn for her.

The murmuring staff members went quiet when they saw their bosses in the limelight.

"Everyone," Vaanya yells, looking in all directions as all of their staff was already present at the railings of the above floors, and gathered around in a circle on the ground floor.

"Come down, we're having a party as your CEO, Mr. Abhir Agnihotri Birla has cracked a great, big ass deal with our new business partners from Japan. And bonuses for all of you this month."

She winked with the announcement, and the entire office building was shrouded in hoots, cheers and claps.

The excitement could be felt in the ambiance of their employees after hearing bonuses. Vaanya smiled widely looking at Abhir who was standing behind her with his wrist in her hand.

"You're really impossible, Vaanu. I can never overpower your cleverness," he chuckled, massaging his nape, and Vaanya winked at him too.

"Oh? Now nobody is seeing you winking at me? Or was that deal limited to just kisses, hmm wifey?" Abhir confidently smirked this time, raising an eyebrow at her, and biting his lower lip in a seductive manner.

Vaanya's eyes balled out. "Abhi!" She slapped his chest at his unnatural behaviour, and both bursted out laughing. But Vaanya was more shy than enjoying the moment, as she remembered something.

The book. That scene. And Abhir being this close to her that night which almost got her squirming in his hold as she was so aroused.

Only she knows how she has managed to not moan in front of him that night.

It's been a week, and this is how she feels these days around him.

Aroused.

"Damn—not here."

Like right now. Even in this much public, these many employees around, all she felt was Abhir's presence. Everyone was dancing, enjoying, chattering and what not, but all she heard was his voice.

And there it was. That feeling making her go weak in the knees again.

"Not again, not again please god, not again, not here at least,"

She soundly gulped to herself as people emerged around her and Abhir in a circle, and swayed with the music circling them.

"Abhi, let's go back," she whispered in his ear. Her voice uncomfortable and weird that he couldn't perceive why, so protectively, he circles an arm around her shoulder.

"Okay," he nodded, and made way for them out of the crowd and went to their floor through the elevator this time.

Vaanya was just continuosly biting her lips, and tapping her foot on the ground. Of course Abhir noticed her.

She's been weirdly weird this whole week, but he didn't dare to ask her directly, as this type of weird was weird in itself.

How could he ask her why her legs are twisted in the inside?

Does she have knock knees?

Uh—probably not because he never saw that before. Then what was it? He has no idea. But not just that, he also observed her getting stunned sometimes whenever he called her from behind or something, as if she was in pondering deeply.

She's recently reading a lot as well, maybe cooking up stories in her mind? But no, why would she try to run away from him if that was the case?

Generally, girls want to recreate scenes from their favourite fantasy novels with their partners, right?

Then why was she doing this? Whenever he was close, she would either make excuses, or simply find her way away from him.

Although, all of it didn't seem weird in a sense that she was uncomfortable around him. No. Not at all.

She's as always comfortable and frank with her body language whenever he's around, and usually longing for him when he's not. But this type of attitude was more like—she's shy.

Whenever he back hugged her out of the blue this entire week, he noticed once or twice that her cheeks would heat up instantly and she would run away.

She starts stuttering, and usually she's walking like her legs are weak or something. Maybe vitamin D deficiency?

And according to Abhir's calculation, all he could think of was— "She needs therapy. Maybe she's sick,"

"Vaanu?" He confusedly questioned when he saw her turning to her cabin instead of his.

"Ye- yeah?" She turned around, fixing her hair. Oh yes, this too. This is what she does too these days.

Fixing her hair.

Whenever he calls her these days, she's always moving back her strands behind her ears or something, and never looking up at him unless he deliberately cups her cheeks, squeezes them and make her look up at him.

Why? What's wrong? Is she shy of him now after an year of marriage?

"You—" he points at her. "Aren't you coming here?" He asked as if it was way too obvious.

"Oh—should I?" She asks, looking here and there again. No eye contact.

Argh! This is tiring. Where did her confidence go all of a sudden? She's usually screaming, rebuking or giving him weird names all the time, but what's wrong all of a sudden?

He doesn't like this personality of hers at all.

He loves her like she really is. Rough and tough. Not shy, not introverted. But just her.

And today he was done with this behaviour. Cracking his neck in either directions, Abhir rapidly walks towards her, bends down to circle his arm around her knees, and lifted her up on his shoulder.

Her body divided in equal proportions from his shoulder as he carried her to his cabin.

"Abhi—what the heck? Put me down—someone will see us—" she growls, kicking and punching him as much as she could, but her attempts were futile as it hurt him no bit.

"So what? It's our workplace anyways, let them see and know how much we love each other, yeah?" He replies, entering his cabin and closing the door shut with a thud behind him.

Abhir walks to the couch, and threw her on the huge sofa safely, while loosening his tie, and unbuttoning his sleeves buttons of his black shirt to roll his shirt up.

His eyes didn't leave hers while he rolled his sleeves up to his elbows. His gaze was intense, yet again making her feel submissive under him, and made her remember the intimate scenes of that novel she was reading.

"Abh—"

"Shh," he says with finality. Dare dripping from his tone and his eyes.

And the next she saw was him unbuttoning his shirt.

"No ways—"

Her body felt goosebumps running down from head to toe. No ways Abhir was thinking to do that in office. It'll be her first time, and she wish not to lose her virginity in their office.

But before she could fantasize further with her eyeballs stretching like the size of a football, he stopped after unbuttoning just the first button of his shirt.

But even that was too revealing. Half of his chest was open to air just after opening that one damn button.

His chest is chiseled. Freaking hot. Not that she hasn't seen before, but him in this black shirt, rolled up sleeves and a messy hairstyle. What else do a girl needs in her man to look any better than this?

Simple yet breathtakingly hot.

But how does she revert her gaze from him as her eyes seemed to have been locked on his chest forever, boasting his ego that brought a smirk on his face.

And finally after almost making cross her legs tightly, a knot building in her stomach at the mere sight of him, Abhir finally cages her in between his arms and legs on the couch.

He keeps his face still at a three inches distance, but his legs and arms were in full contact with her body.

Her legs caged by his, and his hands on either sides of her head while she blankly but nervously stared in his eyes, and saw his pupils dilate.

"You're so weird lately, wifey," Abhir speaks with a raspy voice that she heard for the first time, sending chills down her body.

Vaanya remained quiet.

"I know what you're feeling these days, Miss Birla," he deliberately takes that name to make her feel even more submissive under him.

"But you won't tell me by yourself, will you?" He says.

His index finger slowly tracing her jawline, and sliding up to her lips. The index finger now switched with his thumb that he used to trace the line of the lower lip.

Vaanya's eyes instantly shut tight at the teasingly electrified contact of his fingers with her skin, causing her to move in his hold, but she couldn't. He trapped her tightly underneath him, that even if she wanted to, she couldn't move a bit.

"Open your eyes, love," he sings a little.

Abhir's lips curving into a smile filled with excitement after seeing her reaction that he didn't expect.

He affects her this much.

So this was the problem the entire week? Damn. She could have just given him a single hint, because he kept holding himself back thinking that she wouldn't like it, or he might upset her by doing something inappropriate as they're still young.

But now, it's okay. He got it. He knows the problem, and he'll work thoroughly upon it now. With much more intensity and care.

A shy smile blended with the earlier smirk as some unwanted scenarios came rushing to his mind.

"Vaanu," he sings her name again. But when she didn't open her eyes, an idea buzzed in his mind, and he smirks, looking at her face with her eyes still tightly shut.

"If you won't open your eyes, then I'll have do what Adrian did to Lily on page number forty six when she was disobeying him,"
